Rules and regulations

The rules and regulations for the European Footvolley League (EFVL) ranking tournaments and for the European Footvolley Championship (EFC) are still being worked out. The rules we have decided on are displayed below. 


European Footvolley Championship Rules

Rules valid for 2016 championship. New rules will be published soon.

These are the rules that apply for the EFC and every player must be familiar with these rules prior to participating in a EFC tournament. 

Number of teams

Two teams from the same nation can not be part of the same group. 

Tournament stages

Group Stage: 1 set 18 points - max 21.
Final Stage: 3 set (18-18-15) - unlimited.

Group tie breaks

If a group end up with ties after the group stage, the following rules apply - and in this order: 

  1. Match wins
  2. Head to head
  3. Point difference
  4. Points scored

The last team in a group is not included in calculations.

Ranking

The ranking for our first EFC are not based on any point system, but agreed upon by the members of the EFVL. The results from the first EFC at Schwäbisch Gmünd and ranking tournaments will decide each nations ranking in the future. 

Germany 1 has the first spot because they are the host nation. The first EFC will have 16 teams. 

The draw will be done based on the following groups (each group will contain one team from each group).

The ranking groups may change later if agreements with Spain and France are not formalized in due time.
